Well look at what we have here. Yup! It's my blog! Just with a new look. As much as I was digging my previous blog's design, it just wasn't fulfilling the vision that I had and wasn't what I was going for. This layout is much less busy, a bit more of a minimalist feel to. So if you hate change, I'm sorry. If you welcome it, then.....you're welcome!
That's one thing that I'm a big believer in - if something isn't working for you, then change it! You have the power to do that. Whether it's in work, love, life or......online blogging!
Anyway, back to the matter at hand.
Our new dining room light that I ordered (and wrote about a few entries ago) arrived - FINALLY, and my super duper handy dad & brother installed it for me this past weekend while my parents were visiting.
Here's a few pictures of the finished look!

It really changes up the space, and updates it, although I think it will make more of a statement once we paint and add a few more touches/accessories., it will really pop. Needless to say - I love it! Exactly what I wanted there.
What else do we have going on with the house? Tomorrow, we have a guy coming to take a look at our bathroom to give us an idea as to the scope of work that needs to be done, and more importantly - the cost.
Last week, we had a local contractor who was recommended to us by friends of one of Steve's co-workers who we met at a party a few months ago, come by and take a look at the closet in our upstairs hallway and in our bedroom. We have a few preliminary ideas for those spaces - but getting some insight by someone with experience renovating them.
I think we're going to put a built-in Ikea Pax wardrobe in the upstairs hall closet that's been opened up. Really maximize the space. Really loving that idea.
Here's what I mean:

For our bedroom, we want to do something similar, but won't be built-in, will just be free-standing. Right now, we have one teeny-tiny reach-in closet, but I think we want to open it up, and create and alcove out of the closet space. Frame it and drywall it, and then put our bed frame against that wall, and then a big wardrobe along the interior wall like in the picture below:
Anywho - those are just what we're thinking for the time being. I will keep you posted on the status of our storage solutions in the upstairs hallway and bedroom.
Until next time......
